Hello friends,
We are pleased to announce the following updates from our recent AGM that took place on Friday, April 10, 2026!
- Members voted YES to the proposed bylaw amendment to add a 2nd Vice-President position for the local
- Members voted YES to pass the 2023 to 2025 finances for the local
- Members voted YES to amend the agenda and defer the election of all executives to the next AGM due to occur in Spring/Summer 2026
- Delegates & alternates for the CEIU National Triennial 2026 happening in Vancouver, BC were selected by President Alex Solis as per the current Local 556 Bylaws. Delegates to this year’s convention will be Alex Solis (President) and Meg Harris (Secretary/Treasurer) and our alternate/observer is Cathy Suklje (Vice-President)
The financial update is crucial as we still have members waiting for their 2023 strike pay top-up as our local did not have enough funds on hand to cover every application. Once we submit financial documents with the meeting minutes to CEIU National and CEIU Ontario, funds will be released!
